I've been ravin since I was about 19. I was at DESTINY at THE MANOR once a month on a regular basis untill it closed with my ravin buddie STU E-D. But then........ nothing. I was lucky enough to have my first public appearance there! Honoured indeed!
After that, I just poured myself into my music. Forcing my mates into listening to my mix tapes (not quite the polished product I make now to say the least!). I love a bit of cheese, hence THE VIBES is my hero! Raved my little sox off, did a radio station for a year or so and that's where i met a grey haired old git called Sean and his wife Nikki. Met loads of people after that. Sean can talk to anyone, if they want to or not. Played regularly at ELECTRIK (cheers Marley n Scandal).
The turning point for me was Sean and his bud Steve went to see HATTRIXX in london and made a record called "piano passion". It was good , and enough for me to book a day in the studio. I made a remix of "aint no sunshine" (which i played at DEPTHCHARGE, it totally went off!), from then on, hooked, all 3 of us. We made a choon called "ENTER THE VOID" with a glorious 2001 break that still gives me tingles. So we gave ourselves a name... 'SMS' Sean, the M and Steve. The choon didnt really catch anyones attention, but we saw the potential in ourselves to be more than we were. So we quite simply "stuck at it". Sean sent one of our choons "7th power" to Jon Doe, from CLSM fame. Much to our surprise, he loved it! Offered to put it his label. He sent it to a few people, and it got on disc 3 of Hardcore Underground. A most anticipated album for those in the know of the "up n coming" scene. That kinda spring boarded us, 2 major albums are on the way, releases from ELECTRIK EUPHORIA, CLSM, and some I cant mention yet (shhhhhh, its a secret). And with 10 plays on Radio 1's KUTSKI,s "in new dj's we trust" show, 2 choons played in the main arena at the HARDCORE WEEKENDER 3 and a night to help promote with the legend STU J.......... things are going kinda well.
Best bit of ravin............... Leaving the dex to go to HONEY CLUB, only to be replaces by DARREN STYLES! Worst............................. Getting far to messy at DEPTHCHARGE and spoiling it for myself. Love............................... My ego even tho it will ruin me. Hate............................... Politics, it goes with the scene unfortunatly!
