DJ Merlin

I started practising on the decks in 91/92 at the age of 14 on a set of old and brutal Sound Lab beltdrive's, I was given the name MERLIN by my mates as I was into magic in a big way back then - so it stuck. I started in the House scene and played at many pubs/ clubs around Leicester, Nottingham, Derby & Loughborough.

WOW did it convert me straight away I became obsessed with the music, after listening to heavy rock and house in my earlier years, I started listening to Hardcore everywhere I went. I started buying HC vinyl by the shed loads, my house records have now got spiders and dust all over them.
I loved it so much I started raving as soon as I looked old enough to get past the bouncers and up went my life better than anything I'd ever experienced.

My home became the Die Electric Club DIEHARD, I raved at the place on many many Friday nights. one after another after another and so on. I spent hours and hours on the dance floors (bouncy bouncy spring loaded, well it felt like it ha-ha-ha) and hour after hour stood by the old scaffolding rig watching dj's + the scratch master himself SY, need I have said his name. Even though diehard was my favourite club I still managed to-do many Hardcore Heaven's - Helter Skelter's at The original And unbeatable Sanctuary & Rollers Arena's at Milton Keynes & Dreamscape's at Shepton Mallet Bristol, And so on and on, All over the country cause u know the score "its pedal to the floor for the mutha fu*%kin Ardcore".
Well after seeing how good and talented the Hardcore DJ's in the scene were I thought I best bury myself in my trusty 1210's and Technics mixer (well Vestax Pcv275 now) for many many hours and many many years. I have ALWAYS used 1210's and never CD's, I really love scratching and want to further my knowledge as it's limited, finally I play for free & just for the love of it and that's forever!
